My boyfriend is a PhD student at Tech and I work there as well. Lately we have been exploring different housing options, as we pay way too much in rent, and real estate here is quite expensive for a student and a recent grad with student loans.
We are looking for someone who has some sort of acreage and would allow us to set up our modern little cone-home. We will be here in the area for several years, since he is a PhD student and I have a job, so this is something that would be considered longer-term, at least a couple years. We would really like to have electricity nearby for us to hook up to. We are looking into different options for water currently, so that will have to be discussed later. A composting toilet would be our method of sewage disposal. Don't worry, its not as disgusting as it sounds. We can walk you through it.
We are very willing to assist in taking care of the property, as we would prefer to continue on with our gardening practices. My boyfriend knows how to drive machines, and I am good at... other stuff? It is also worth mentioning that we have three chickens that are contained within a tractor most of the day. Oh, and a lazy hound dog.
This need is not currently urgent, as we are within a lease and will be for a bit longer. He and I were just curious to see if there was anyone who would be comfortable with this.
