I'm looking for a straight up rock or pop influenced band that need a bass player. I played in the band Twenty Somthin, now known as Westmain, for a short time. My influences in these genres would include Kings of Leon, Alice in Chains, Incubus, Blind Melon, Rage Against the Machine, and Audioslave.

National TV Show and Record Label Coming to Pulaski

Singers and bands in the greater Pulaski area will soon have a chance to expand their fan base. Sonic Records, a recording and promotion company based out of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Covina, Ca. will bring its camera crew to Pulaski on Sat. Dec. 5 – 4 PM. The camera crew will be gathering talent for a new National TV show called “Sonic Records Showcase”.

The show "Sonic Records Showcase” is a half-hour TV Show dedicated to promoting www.SonicRecords.com, a recording label, music download site and streaming webcast.

The site also links to singers’ and bands’ existing websites to assist them in selling their download music and gaining needed exposure. The show will air nationally on DirecTV, Channel 225, on Friday Dec. 4 at Midnight Eastern, 9pm Pacific, and again Ja. 15 2010

The taping for both the TV Show and webcast will be Sat. Dec. 5 at Kazemer Club in Pulaski. Artists with original songs and cover songs are welcome.

At least one artist will be taped for the National TV show and aired on the Jan. 15 episode. Sonic Records producers will make judging by overall talent and crowd response.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to become a rock star or even join a band (well, maybe a small local band that just gets together for fun and isn't trying to make a living out of it).
My taste in music is mostly pop/rock of the 70's and 80's, but not strictly so. My voice seems tuned for James Taylor songs, although I like to try to approach Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Elton John...
I think it'd be fun to sing some classic Christmas songs too.
