it's funny that people are now throwing around the words Snitch and Nark with the whole newport rescue thing. that indicates that there really IS something wrong going on up there! I hope there's an investigation. i might call wsls 10 on your side. they love this kind of shit.
i dont pretend to know how rescue squads work or if whats going on in newport is because of its leaders or an unhappy employees. i just hope they can put all of that aside when the phone rings!

I enjoyed/read with interest the posts which were obviously factual..and I didnt really see any libel/slander in any of them (omitting the complete idiot who pushed this too far and posted a picture and made the outrageous statement that he would start his own squad. His identity had been verified.) Go back and read them. There werent any obviously exaggerated statements. I believe all of this to be true. So I did some poking around and had it confirmed by 2 different members. The grudges, the spending, the arrogance - all true according to people close to those involved.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Television viewers jarred by abrupt spikes in volume during commercial breaks may someday be able to give their mute buttons a rest.
"I not only dive for the mute button, but I end up having to close my windows so that the blast doesn't affect by neighbors," says Congresswoman Anna Eshoo. "I live on a cul-de-sac, and so the sound resonates."
Irritated with loud commercials, the California Democrat found it was also a common complaint with the Federal Communications Commission. So she drafted a bill aimed at preventing TV ads from playing noticeably louder than the programs they sponsor.
The House is scheduled to vote Tuesday on the bill. An identical measure has been introduced in the Senate. Even if they become law, will viewers notice much difference? Maybe, maybe not, some experts say.
Eshoo's bill originally prescribed that television advertisements could be no louder than the average maximum loudness of the programs they accompany. She changed her bill to instead adopt guidelines developed by the TV industry, which she said will accomplish the same goal.
"I didn't go with the industry," she said. "I prodded the industry to come up with the technology and the standards. And they did."
Robert Thompson, a professor of television and popular culture at Syracuse University, says Congress should have higher priorities than strident commercials.
"The idea that this is a problem that is so big that it requires legislative action is incredibly absurd," he said. "I don't think anyone's ears have ever been damaged by this."
Right now, the government doesn't have much say in the volume of TV ads. It's been getting complaints ever since televisions began proliferating in the 1950s. But the FCC concluded in 1984 there was no fair way to write regulations controlling the "apparent loudness" of commercials.
Correcting sound levels is more complicated than using the remote control. The television shows and ads come from a variety of sources, from local businesses to syndicators.
Managing the transition between programs and ads without spoiling the artistic intent of the producers poses technical challenges and may require TV broadcasters to purchase new equipment. To address the issue, an industry organization recently produced guidelines on how to process, measure and transmit audio in a uniform way.
Eshoo's bill requires the FCC to adopt those recommendations as regulations within a year and begin enforcing them a year later.
Mark Richer, who heads the industry's Advanced Television Systems Committee, said some companies have started to make changes.
"People are already hearing a difference -- or not hearing a difference -- is a better way to put it," he said.
Richer's group doesn't have a position on the bill, but he said he hopes the government doesn't do something that complicates the industry's own attempt to smooth out the volume. Consumers Union and the American Association of Advertising Agencies support the legislation. The National Association of Broadcasters declined to comment on it.
Even once the adjustments are in place, listeners may still notice different volume levels, Richer said. Sound spikes can be part of the storytelling -- the screeching sounds of a car, for example -- and some commercials may just seem noisy because they follow a quiet, intense scene.
"That's life," Richer said. "That's what sound is."

While the absolute truth is a great defense, it's not whether you win or lose, but the cost of defending yourself. Additionally, you should know that the truth is not what you "think", or you "allege", or your "opinion", but rather, the absolute truth. Since you like analogies, let me give you another lesson....There's a big difference between a 1st Amendment issue when one says "In my opinion, only a coward and jealous fool would come to CL to vent their opinion about a rescue squad" and that of one who is alleging crimes. As a result, you might just have to "prove"' those crimes happened....Beyond a reasonable doubt no less. Otherwise, it's slander and libel.

You're comments and accusations would be taken much more seriously if you had the balls to identify yourself and stand up for what's right (assuming something was really wrong). I know little about rescue squads, but given that they receive a lot of funding via municipalities, take your issues up with town leaders and/or council.

These pups was born Oct 9th 2009. They are a mixture of bull dog(there is 6 of them). THERE APPEARS TO BE SEVERAL DADS TO THE LITTER -> SO I WOULD BE PAYING TWICE AS MUCH AS A SHELTER FOR A MUTT?? NOT EVEN A PURE BRED DOG?<- so we are not sure what they mixture really is. It is possible that maybe on of the dads was a boxer that was allowed to roam free in the neighbor hood. THIS IS WHAT THE FORMER OWNER TOLD ME WHEN SHE SURRENDERED THE PUPS. There is no way to know for sure.
These pups are 8 weeks old. The majority of the litter should mature around 50 pounds. They are super sweet and very people friendly. They are great with my cats and other dogs. The mom of this litter is the most well behaved humble bully mix I have ever met. She is an a plus on disposition. These babies are just as sweet and humble as she is. We have started potty training and these babies will get the idea in no time. They are super super smart. I can not go on enough about how brainy these little babes are. I am very impressed with them.

While crossing the bridge from Fairlawn into Radford, you speed up to 45 or so in the left lane to pass everyone (despite the speed limit being 35 and the left lane being TURN ONLY). You manage to get stuck in the left lane at the red light in front of CVS. You proceed to roll forward on red so you have at least a half a car's legnth in front of me (who was first in line on the right) and then gun it in front of me and cut into the right lane. I follow you through all the lights until we get to the intersection at Tyler Avenue. Knowing that the left lane goes straight the entire time, I stay left. You go right. The light is red, but apparently you have no idea what that means. You once again roll forward on red like you're turning right, and you were in the middle of the intersection before the light was even green. The second it turns green you shoot by me again, cut back over in front of me, and proceed to do at least 40 in a 25 all the way to the stop light at Highlander Pizza.
Now here is my biggest issue - the light turned COMPLETELY RED before you'd even hit the white stopping line, and you flew through it like a color-blind man on crack. There was a car who had a green arrow, and I'm honestly shocked you didn't get your front end taken off of your pretty new Nissan. If that had happened, I would have spent a good five minutes laughing my ass off because you had it coming.
So seriously - if following traffic signals and signs is too hard for you, maybe you should consider paying a taxi to take you where you need to go. Did getting to your apartment complex 30 seconds faster than you would have if you had bothered to stop at that red light really make that big of a difference? I actually stopped at the light and still managed to see you pull into your apartment complex (which is also where I was heading), get out of your car, and leisurely stroll inside.
I guess Mommy and Daddy have the money to buy you a new car when you manage to hit someone head on because you're too busy jacking off to stop at a red light.

Is this the right venue? I don't see why not. This is the community bulletin board. One person stated, "My opinion is that the general public has no business knowing any of this". This couldn't be further from the truth. I am served by this organization for what I would call a critical service. My cash donations support it. My County tax dollar also supports this organization. The local newspaper might be a better venue, but it only comes out once a week.
By chance, I'll be seeing Eric Gentry this week for unrelated reasons. I'll be sure to ask him about what he knows and his opinions on the matter. Were it not for these CL posts, I wouldn't know to ask him anything.

I definitely agree that TNT management are thieves though. When they took over, no one even came into inspect the apartment to see what it was like. We were charged for multiple things that were present when we move in years before--the building was a dump, but we were there because it was cheap. They also gave no consideration for the fact that we lived there for 3+ years and it seemed like they charged us alot of money to replace stupid little things.
