The Hyatt Place in Blacksburg is looking for a hard worker that takes great pride in what they do.
Breakfast Cook - Sets up and works line station for breakfast buffet. Responsible for prepping ingredients and assembling dishes according to Hyatt recipes and specifications. Responsible for making sure the proper dishes are served and all necessary sides/beverages/toppings are on buffet. Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures. Must be familiar with proper preparation and presentation of dishes. Must have knowledge, skills and ability in the areas of health/sanitation standards and procedures. Responsible for clean up and break down of kitchen after AM shift. Must prep food for the next morning.
Physical Demands: Requires ability to stand/walk for significant periods. Requires ability to move fingers and hands easily and quickly. Requires ability to communicate both orally and in writing to guests and staff members. Requires ability to taste and smell (testing cooked food). Requires reaching, bending, stooping, shaking, stirring, and wiping. Requires ability to lift between 20-50+ pounds frequently, infrequently lifting up to 100 pounds. Ability to follow schedule keeping in mind that the hotel is open 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Therefore, you may be required to work holidays, weekdays, weekends and different times during a 24 hour day.
