I am an all natural, small-scale honeybee farmer in Southwest Virginia. I am by no means the world’s greatest PhD authority regarding honey bees, but I have been considerably more successful at keeping my girls alive and healthy than most new beekeepers in the ‘Varroa mite era’.
Keep in mind the Bee Informed Partnership reported that Virginia beekeepers lost about 43% of their colonies each of the last two years. For some states, the figure is north of 50%. Replacing bees is too expensive for that!
My apiary has always received a Certificate of Health from the Virginia state inspector. I decided to place this ad because I have been repeatedly told by customers I should offer basic information and hands-on advice mentoring services to new beekeepers to help them become successful faster. Some of my ‘students’ have hired me because I can be flexible as to the timing of the training sessions, which fits their busy schedule better than taking a class.
I am willing to make myself available in person at your site, or mine, or by phone.
TEXT ME so we can arrange a chat to discuss next steps.
