Royal Palm turkey hatching eggs available for sale. $5 each.
These are beautiful, friendly and curious turkeys that make for excellent pets and also a good meal. Poults hatched in the incubator imprint easily. I have found the poults to be hardy, resilient, and easy to care for. Once fully feathered these turkeys can withstand cold, rain, and snow. Great flyers and will roost in trees if you let them. Excellent foragers and are thrifty on the feed if given range to forage.
My experience: Carcass weight of mature toms are around 14-16 pounds, mature hens around 8-10 lbs. This is a heritage breed which mature more slowly than commercial breeds. 9 months to reach full weight...more time to enjoy their personality! Meat is tender and tasty, even in birds years old.
Hatching eggs are from a mix of 3 toms and 13 hens and have a very high likelihood of being related, even inbred. Hatches from these eggs are best for PETS and MEAT. To preserve breed characteristics/genetic strength, please consider getting mates from a different farm to prevent inbreeding if breeding is the goal. If serious about breeding/preservation, contact so that I can collect eggs from known unrelated hen/tom pairs.
