I am seeking a reliable independent contractor located in or near Radford, VA to complete a local pickup, packing, weighing, and USPS shipment of items purchased through a GovDeals auction from the Radford University surplus warehouse.
Scope of Work
1. Pickup
Retrieve one miscellaneous electronics lot from the Radford University surplus/warehouse facility.
Contractor must present identification if required by the facility.
2. Packing
Items are estimated to weigh approximately 60–80 lbs total.
Items may be split into two boxes (approximately 24" x 18" x 16" each).
Contractor is responsible for supplying appropriate boxes and packing materials at their own expense.
Items must be packed securely to prevent damage in transit.
3. Weighing
Contractor must weigh each packed box using a reliable scale (bathroom scale or shipping scale acceptable).
Accurate weights must be provided prior to shipment so prepaid USPS labels can be issued.
4. Labeling & Shipment
I will email prepaid USPS shipping labels after receiving final weights.
Contractor must print the label (access to a printer required; public library printing is acceptable).
Affix label securely and deliver package(s) to a USPS location.
Proof of drop-off (receipt and/or photo confirmation) must be provided.
Compensation Terms
$125 flat rate for full completion of all listed tasks.
Payment will be issued promptly upon confirmed USPS drop-off and receipt of documentation.
No partial payment unless agreed upon in writing in advance.
Requirements
Must be 18 years or older.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must have access to a working scale.
Must have access to printing capability.
Must provide own packing materials and boxes.
Prior shipping or logistics experience preferred.
Independent Contractor Status
This is a one-time independent contractor engagement. Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, transportation, materials, and incidental expenses unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Liability
Contractor agrees to exercise reasonable care in handling and packaging the items and assumes responsibility for loss or damage caused by negligence prior to USPS acceptance.
