Vintage NEC PowerMate Enterprise (PowerMate 8000 Series) desktop computer. This would be a nice machine to build out into a retro gaming rig or for running older equipment/software.
This machine powers on, and I was able to boot to a floppy and to a Windows 98 setup CD-ROM (in the HP drive, the top CD drive does not open). Untested beyond this - because of this and the age of this hardware, it is sold as-is with no returns/refunds for any issues.
The computer has a Pentium II 333MHz processor, along with 128MB RAM (2x64MB). It has an ATI video card of some sort, along with a 3Com Ethernet card and a modem. Has a CD-ROM drive (needs repair/replacement - tray does not open), CD-RW drive (tested to boot a Windows 98 setup CD), ZIP-100 (untested), and a 3.5" floppy drive (tested to boot a DOS boot floppy). Does not have a hard drive (does have room for two, but only cabling for one assuming you leave the 3 other drives connected).
The case does show some wear from use and age - scratches and scuffs, dirt and dust, dents and dings, yellowing/discoloration, etc. Nothing too bad in my opinion, considering its age! The fans sound decent for their age.
Price is $100. Must meet at the Liberty gas station near Corning in Christiansburg (3250 N. Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA 24073). Cash only.
